The WilmerHale 2L summer program will expose you to the breadth of the firm’s practice and the range of talents among its lawyers. By providing you with a realistic view of the firm through challenging work, practical training and the opportunity to work and socialize with many of our lawyers, we try to give you the insight you need to make an informed decision to join us after graduation or a clerkship.

We are committed to a collaborative style of practice that emphasizes the value of individual lawyers and the importance of each lawyer’s development. Our tradition of emphasizing training, development and mentoring supports this choice of style. We believe the best results are achieved by drawing on the exceptional talents and varied experience of our lawyers.

Our $25,000 1L Fellowship is designed to help students fund their 1L summer experiences working in a nonprofit public interest organization, judicial chambers, government position, and/or academia.  The Fellowship will allow you to gain invaluable experience during the summer between your 1L and 2L year while exploring additional interests, building professional networks, and laying a strong foundation for an impactful and broad legal career.

Our Career Advancement Program supports our lawyers at all levels in their development with partner mentors invested in their mentees careers; established competencies that clearly define expectations; training programs tailored to experience level, practice and need; performance-based compensation and a flexible career path that promotes lawyer development on a more individualized basis.

As an inaugural signatory of the American Bar Association Well-Being Pledge for Legal Employers, we are committed to helping lawyers maintain positive mental health and combat substance abuse. To us, well-being pertains to emotional, physical and financial health, and achieving well-being is a broad and continuous process in which individuals strive to thrive in each dimension of their lives, including in their workplaces, families and communities.
